Write Your Novel Already! is a year-long mentorship program that guides you through the process of crafting and completing your fantasy novel. You'll participate in a craft book club to study fantasy literature through the lens of authorship, and will work through four quarterly "intensives" designed to keep you on-track and motivated.

Meet Your Mentors

Ashley Warren and Dr. Beth Ball

July - December 2025 Mentor

Ashley Warren, MA is the founder and director of the Storytelling Collective. She holds a Masters in Literacy Studies and has spent more than a decade working with writers of all experience levels. Ashley approaches mentorship through the lens of process and supporting writers through each stage of writing a novel, from the exciting idea-development phase to the inevitable "messy middle" to the celebratory first draft completion! 

As a writer, Ashley is best known for her immersive, atmospheric tabletop roleplaying game design. At present she is developing an original history-inspired game and story supported by the National Endowment of the Humanities. She has completed two novels in the past three years and is in the query trenches for both of them. In her role as Storytelling Collective's director, Ashley stays apprised of publishing market trends and is devoted to studying the writing craft so she can give her mentees the best path forward!


January - June 2025 Mentor

Dr. Beth Ball is a fantasy novelist, tabletop RPG designer, and English professor with over ten years of experience teaching writing. After spending her childhood dreaming of becoming an author, she published her first novel, Buried Heroes, in 2020 and has since published three other novels, earned her PhD, and has three more novels slated for release in 2025, including her first LitRPG under a pen name. 

Beth’s approach to teaching writing centers around mindset and personalizing the creative process. She also believes that stories choose their writers for a reason, so if there’s a story pressing on your heart, you are, innately, the person who needs to tell it. 

What Beth has found as an instructor and, probably even more, what she’s found as an author, is that the writing journey begins as one of belief—even before we begin weaving tales that captivate readers’ imaginations, we have to first believe in ourselves, that we can be the person to bring the stories of our heart into being, that we have what it takes to real-ize them and share them with the world.

  • When does my annual membership start and end?

    This year-long cohort for Write Your Novel Already! lasts from January 1 to December 31, 2025. The monthly membership requires a commitment through the end of the year.

  • If I sign up halfway through the year, does that mean I miss the other units?

    All live call recordings will remain available to you in the Program Library, so you can always revisit previous units. Beth and the StoCo team will be on hand to offer support no matter what stage you're on! We're already planning our 2026 intensive topics.

  • How does the mentorship component work?

    You'll receive mentorship through the private community (where our team will actively answer your questions and share resources with you frequently) and through live calls with Beth and the team. Plus, as you get to know your fellow authors, you'll develop a supportive community!

  • Is there an option for one-on-one mentorship?

    Currently, mentorship is provided through group calls and the private community; however, if there is enough interest in one-on-one mentorship, we will definitely consider making that available.

  • If I choose the monthly payment option, does that mean I can cancel at any time?

    The monthly payment option still requires an annual commitment. If you need to leave the program early, please email [email protected] so we can provide you with some options.

  • I already signed up for Cultivating Your Writing Mindset. Do I get a discount on this program?
